These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Nour Al-Muslim app (the "App") and the website www.nouralmuslim.com (the "Website"), provided by The Innovates Tech Inc., a Canadian company based in Calgary, Alberta ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the App, or using the Website, you agree to these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. Licence to use the App
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, in line with these Terms and the rules of the store you obtained it from. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
2. Free app and donations
The App is free, with no ads and no subscriptions. You may choose to make a donation of any amount offered in the App through the App Store or Google Play. Donations are voluntary gifts to the developer to support the App's work; they unlock no features, are not a purchase of goods or services, and are not a zakat or sadaqah receipt or a charitable-donation receipt for tax purposes. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
3. Religious content and guidance
The App presents the Quran, translations of its meanings, tafsir, hadith with their grades, classical books, athkar and lessons as published by their authors and sources. Translations convey meanings and are not the Quran itself. Where scholars differ, the App names the view used. The App is a tool for reading, learning and worship; it does not replace qualified scholars. For questions about your own situation, please consult a qualified scholar.
4. Prayer times, Qibla and calculations
We work hard to make prayer times, the Qibla, the Hijri calendar, Zakat and inheritance results accurate, and test them against independent references. However, results depend on the method, settings, location and device sensors you use, and the Hijri calendar may differ from local moon-sighting announcements. Please verify important matters with your local mosque or a qualified scholar, especially for the start of Ramadan, Eid and the distribution of an estate.
5. STRATA AI
STRATA runs on your device. It quotes the texts in the App and may add AI-generated explanations, which are labelled and can contain mistakes. STRATA does not issue fatwas or rulings. Outside AI models are optional, off by default, and governed by the terms of the provider you choose.
6. Third-party content and services
The Quran text and layout data, recitations, translations, tafsir, hadith, books and Athan recordings belong to their respective owners and are used under their terms (see Settings → About → Content and licences in the App). Links to other websites and services are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
7. Intellectual property
The App's software, design, interface, the STRATA assistant, our selection and arrangement of content, the Website and the names and logos "Nour Al-Muslim", "نور المسلم" and "STRATA" are owned by or licensed to The Innovates Tech Inc. and are protected by law. Your use of them is governed by these Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.
8. App store terms
If you obtained the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you. Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies in addition to these Terms, and these Terms prevail where they are more protective of you. If you obtained the App from Google Play, the Google Play Terms of Service also apply.
9. No warranty
To the extent permitted by law, the App and the Website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that they will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be excluded.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, The Innovates Tech Inc. and its directors, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App or the Website. Because the App is free, our total liability for any claim relating to it will not exceed CAD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you.
11. Changes, suspension and termination
We may update the App, add or remove features or content (for example when a licence changes), or update these Terms. If we make a material change to these Terms, we will tell you on the Website or in the App. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or end access to the Website or our online features if you breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Alberta have jurisdiction, unless the consumer law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own courts.
13. General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms; we may transfer ours to a successor. These Terms are written in English; translations are provided for convenience, and the English version prevails to the extent permitted by law. Questions: [email protected].
